Years after they broke up, Shakira is still trying to shake her relationship with longtime beau Antonio de la Ra. And the moral of the story may be: Always insist on a pre-nup when you're a walking global brand.

After the split, both moved on to new partners. Shakira is now attached to Spanish footballer Gerard Piqu, lives in Barcelona and recently gave birth to the couple's first child, a son, Milan. De la Ra is enamored of Daniela Ramos, a former Miss World Colombia, who recently gave birth to their first child, a daughter, Zulu.

All's well that ends well, right? Except that in September, it emerged that De la Ra, an attorney and the son of a former president of Argentina, was planning to sue the Colombian pop diva for a cool $250 million. He argued that he hadn't been properly compensated for what he claimed were his contributions to the shaping of Shakira's image and artistry during the 11 years they were together. De la Ra said he even deserved some credit (and financial recompense) for two of Shakira's biggest smashes, "Hips Don't Lie" and "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)."

Shakira now has responded by dismissing De la Ra's boast that he was her Svengali, and asking a Manhattan judge to throw out her ex's lawsuit. A sad business all around, and with no end in sight.
