Shakira, Gerard Piqu Expecting Baby Boy

Shakira has confirmed that she's expecting a baby boy with partner, Gerard Piqu.

The She Wolf singer, who announced last month that she was to become a mother for the first time, revealed her unborn baby's sex during an interview on German television.

Shakira told RTL: "It's gonna be a boy. This guy [Piqu] is the best thing that ever happened to me in my whole life. And now we are having a baby."

The 35-year old - who is the founder of the Barefoot Foundation - went on to state that she's keen for her son to play a part in her charity work, claiming: "When the baby is born, I'll take him with me on charity trips.

"He shall learn that he is able to change the world."

Shakira and the Barcelona footballer met back in 2010 when he was featured in the music video for her South Africa World Cup theme song Waka Waka (This Time for Africa).

She later confirmed their relationship in March of 2011, posting a picture on Facebook, saying: "I present to you my sunshine" in Spanish.
