Shakira broke up with her longtime beau broke up in early 2011, so this year the petite singer made Zimbio's 100 Hottest Celebrity Couples list with a new man, soccer star Gerard Pique . Shakira kisses Gerard Pique (Bauer Griffin) There might be 15 inches and 10 years between them (she's 5-foot-1 and 35, he's 6-foot-4 and 25), but they do have some serious chemistry. They love showing off for the cameras, perhaps a little too much. Apparently some vacation pictures of the couple got the Barcelona player in some hot water with his team in March. But these two started dating soon after Shakira split from Antonio de la Rua after 11 years, and rebound relationships rarely last. Just ask Jennifer Lopez . Speaking of J. Lo, she also made our list with a new man this year. She and Marc Anthony rounded out the top 10 on last year's list and a lot has changed since then. The couple split in July 2011 and by t...

Shakira speaks at Summit of Americas

U.S. President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hilary Clinton jetted to Cartagena to participate in the annual Summit of the Americas, which brings political leaders together to find solutions to problems in the Western Hemisphere. And singer/activist Shakira, who was recently named a member of Obama's Advisory Commission on Educational Excellence for Hispanics, jetted in on Friday (13Apr12) to deliver a heartfelt speech pleading for improved childhood development policies. She said, "I am convinced that by far the best way to fight poverty in Latin America is to invest in the education of all our youths and children, and to do so particularly from the months before they are born. And I firmly believe that this social investment must come not just from government, but from all of us including those in the business community... Inequality in Latin America as you know, is among the worst in the world, and such high levels of inequity are an indictment of the failure of past ...

This a historic day, decades, even centuries in the making, Obama said. For generations many of you have lived on these lands, toiled these lands, raised your families on these lands and now, from this day forward, you will at long-last hold title to this land. Standing alongside President Santos of Colombia and singer Shakira in the Plaza de San Pedro, Obama reflected on his own ancestry. Early in my presidency, my family and I visited Ghana in West Africa and we visited the historic Cape Coast Castle and Ill never forget my two young daughters, the descendents of Africans and African-Americans, looking o...
