Shakira almost attacked by sea lion

Looks like someone didnt like the way Shakira moves her hips.

The UKs Daily Mail reported the Hips Dont Lie singer was in Cape Town, South Africa Sunday when she had a pretty frightening run-in with a sea lion.

The 35-year-old singer detailed the event on her Facbook page, writing that she was on a nature tour when she wanted to get a little closer to the cute creatures to a picture.

"Suddenly, one of them jumped out of the water so fast and impetuously that it got about one foot away from me, looked me in the eye, roared in fury and tried to bite me," she wrote.

"I was paralyzed by fear and couldn't move, I just kept eye contact with it while my brother 'Super Tony' jumped over me and literally saved my life, taking me away from the beast."

According to Us Weekly, Shakira and her brother only suffered a few minor scrapes from the incident.

She also has an explanation for what could have provoked the attack.

"I believe what happened is that it confused the shiny reflection of the BlackBerry I was taking these pics with, with some sort of fish. It probably thought I was teasing it with food and then taking it away from it," she wrote.

And despite her somewhat traumatizing experience, the Colombian singer continued her nature tour with another cuddly sea animal.

"Today with the pengu! ins! Def initely friendlier!" she wrote later that day, posting a photo of herself and the friendly birds.

Lets hope she doesnt have any more mean animal encounters.
